Wake up to Yellow

Claude Monet is famous for among other things, a lovely and  eclectic dining room.  Yellow chairs surround  a humble dining room table in the country house of one of France's most iconic figures.  Perhaps sensational at the time, painting family heirlooms may be the solution to a  problem many of us face today.  How do we add interest to our rooms and make them modern? Especiailly when we are the fortunate recipents of family antiques. Brown stained furniture may be a page in another chapter.  Navy , turquoise, pink  and yellow  lacquer wake up the stodgiest of furniture.   Light open and airy works for today.

Yellow seems to be making a comeback. It goes great with purple or grey and a touch of sky blue.  We found this Chippendale style bench at auction and decided to paint it a warm yellow. The original plan was to lacquer it for a glamourous effect. We added the  grey and yellow fabric with a touch of blue and the bench spoke.  A modest yellow will do.

Price of bench available upon request.
