When it comes to home decor, there are patterns that are just classic and never a misstep. Stripes and checks have stood the test of time and continue to be staples in the well decorated home. Case in point, this vintage chaise was covered in my blue ticking stripe and traveled from our old house to our new one. It slides in effortlessly to almost any decor. A fresh crop of hydrangeas and pleated blue sprig shade makes this corner exceptionally cozy.

For the dining room I chose another classic pattern; the buffalo check. Buffalo checks come in all scales and colors. I found this one on Spoonflower. The price could not be beat and there is an array of colors to choose from.
Here are classic check curtains in red in a summer house and below a mix of ticking and gingham pillows and cushions. These patterns will never go out of style.
