Dana Gibson original paintings are colorful, expressive works made for collected interiors. Landscapes, still lifes, botanicals, portraits and small cabinet paintings draw on antique art, folk traditions, pattern and the natural world.
Painted in Dana’s Virginia studio, the work deliberately retains the evidence of its making—loose brushwork, imperfect lines, shifts in color and places where the artist’s hand remains visible. The paintings are direct rather than overly finished, with gesture and spontaneity very much part of their character.
Designed to live easily among antiques, textiles and objects gathered over time, these are original works with old-world character and a fresh, slightly unexpected point of view.
