Dana Gibson is an artist and designer whose work is rooted in a lifelong interest in houses, pattern and color.

For more than three decades, Dana has designed for the home, creating fabric, wallcovering, furniture and decorative accessories. Today her Virginia studio is focused primarily on original art, wallpaper and fabric—work that reflects the same love of color and pattern, but in a more personal way.

Her influences are wide-ranging: English country houses, American folk art, antique textiles, old botanical prints and the natural world. Flowers, animals and familiar objects appear again and again, often simplified, exaggerated or rearranged into something unexpected.

Dana's paintings and patterns are made for rooms that evolve over time. She likes interiors that mix old and new, fine and humble, and things inherited, collected or simply loved. The work is colorful and traditional at heart, but rarely drop dead serious.
