I have many favorite rooms and Id have to say our living room is one of them. Magically, it fell into place. Architecture plays a big role in the success of this room but details like the vintage rug, a family portrait with pink accents, and beautiful silk curtains combined serendipitously to make this a seriously pretty room.
So what is a seriously pretty room? It's feminine for starters but its appeal is universal.
Color is an essential element when creating a pretty room. On a trip to Morocco years ago, I saw women dressing in the most beautiful textiles and fabrics. They layered deep purples and vibrant yellows with a base of patterned lime. Anything seemed to go. In the room below a fuscia chair stands alone in a room accented with orange and warm tones.. The architecture plays a special role here as well and contributes to its overall appeal. Delicate plaster work, high ceilings, and sheer spaciousness creates an airy nesting spot for the owners. French doors add to the allure.
Purples, lime pink, and orange color this room above pretty too.
Florals can certainly play a part in the seriously pretty room. Be it a vase with fresh flowers or a floral fabric for the bed, these time-honored patterns are integral to the seriously pretty room.
Room jewelry like sconces, lamps, and chandeliers dress up a space and attract the eye with their glitter and beauty. Below is a dramatic hanging sculpture that gives an edgy look to this seriously chic room. Bathrooms, sunrooms, dens, and bedrooms all deserve to be dressed up. There is always room for a seriously pretty room in your house.
